Embrace winter without fear.

Snow Angel Hill is a Family Business.

Garth built canoes and explored Alberta rivers int the 60s. Jack built saunas in the 90s. John and Maricarmen created Snow Angel Hill to continue this legacy. We chop/split wood in summertime, dip in -30-degree weather, and believe in sauna as form of life affirmation. Our sauna carries the memories that came before us and strengthens us for the future.

Snow Angel Hill is a Place of Contrast.

Here hot meets cold and the austerity of winter meets playfulness and disregard. Enjoy our cocoon-like sauna and then venture out into the cold. It is in the stark contrast that we find the best therapeutic effect.

Sauna and Cold are ACTIVE, not passive processes.

Sauna and Cold are a positive stress – ‘Eustress’. Like exercise, this can be used to build strength and resilience.

If modern life means inactivity, slow health decline, and device-lead attention distractions, we do the opposite in SAH.

  • We sauna with the intention to keep active during cold times.
  • We use hot and cold as a form of exercise that has profound short and long-term health benefits.
  • We focus on the immediacy of experience.
  • We value community over ‘self-love’ and the necessity of discomfort over the comforts of modern life to stimulate growth.
  • We want to create emotion and memory.

Snow Angel Hill is an Offline Zone.

We put our phones away to give full attention to nature’s elements and connections to those around us. Reset your capacity to feel and be attentive by walking in nature, sweating in the sauna, and embracing the clarity of cold water and snow.

Embrace winter without fear.
